For the month of May, hotels in some popular European destinations have begun raising rates due to increased tourism traffic.
In Paris for instance, according to tourism sources, the French capital has increased hotel rates by 24 percent. From February, rates began increasing to an average of 156 euros to an average of 194 euros per room per night. Hotel occupancies are very high. The French capital is not the only popular destination to raise rates.
Other popular destinations like London is now getting fully booked and it is relatively difficult to get good deals. Other European cities have also joined the price increase bandwagon. Rome and Barcelona have cheaper prices, but are already rising to an average of 171 and 159 euros respectively. The issue for most visitors is that these popular cities in Europe are also top travel destinations all year round. It Therefore prices are not expected to lower any time soon.
