Club Med Bintan Island
The Island of Bintan to the south of Singapore is full of history, marked by fallen empires and the spice trade. Its tranquil bays were long used by the Orang Laut pirates as a refuge.
Family Resort welcoming children of all ages, with children's club facilities from 2 years old.
In the swimming pool, children under 3 who are not yet potty-trained must wear a disposable swim nappy.
This is the site of Bintan Island Club Med, a haven of tranquility and refinement combining modernity with Asian tradition.
From the terrace of the Panorama Bar, lapis-lazuli blue, mother of pearl and emerald hues are a feast for the eyes, from the overflow pool to the lush gardens. Bintan Island is also a golfer's paradise, with some of the finest courses* in Asia nearby.
Non smoking Resort
The indoor areas and rooms are non-smoking areas (electronic cigarettes are included in the no-smoking rule).
Parks & Gardens
The gardens have palm trees and numerous species of tropical plants. There are ornamental lakes, and a magnificent waterfall that flows into the swimming pool.
Beach
The two and a half kilometre (one and a half mile) stretch of fine white sandy beach is public, but access only via the Club Med Resort. A haven of peace, just a stone's throw from the Club.
The beach has deckchairs, parasols, showers and a bar. No lifeguards present.
Accommodation
The Resort has 311 rooms divided between small 3-storey buildings.
Comfortable and modern, built in the local style, the buildings make great use of exotic wood and local craftwork.

The Waterfall
Located on the 2nd floor of the main building, this restaurant offers you a wide selection of international dishes at the buffet. Our team prepares a selection of low-calory meals daily, and local specialties for you to discover.
Parents can use the baby corner to prepare meals for their little ones.
There is one smoking area inside this non-smoking restaurant.
Air-conditioned restaurant with tables for 2 to 8 people, equipped with high chairs for babies.
The Terrace
Located at the water's edge, this intimate restaurant offers a magnificent view over the South China Sea. Serves breakfast and late lunch, for golfers after a morning on the golf course, for example.
Also open some evenings, tables must be booked for evening meals, at Reception. The terrace is a smoking area. Tables for 2 to 8 people, equipped with high chairs and booster cushions for infants.
BABY CORNER special service
This baby corner, located in the main restaurant, proposes sweet and savoury baby foods and the equipment necessary for preparing babies' meals.

To help you organise your Spa sessions:
- Sign up for your Spa packages when you book your holiday.
- When you book your holiday, and purchase your Spa package, you are guaranteed of doing the treatments of your choice, but the precise time of your appointments will be fixed with the Spa hostesses when you arrive. You should consequently go to the Spa reception at the start of your holiday in order to finalise your Spa schedule.
- The majority of our Spa packages are designed for men and women (expectant mothers or mothers with a baby less than 3 months old or who are breast feeding are not advised to take Spa treatments). If in doubt, please consult us.
- You will be asked to complete a confidential questionnaire before doing your Spa treatments or package, in order to ensure that you are apt to receive your chosen treatment.
- A Spa package is not transferable, and must be done by the person who purchased it. The treatments may not be modified or replaced by the client.
- Treatments (à la carte or as part of a Spa package) cancelled during the client’s stay without a medical justification, and changes in timing made less than 24 hours in advance, cannot be taken into account; the said treatments may not be replaced or refunded. ● For your safety, you must wear anti-slip sandals in the Spa. A pair of anti-slip sandal is included in the purchase of our 1 to 6 day Spa packages.

CLEAN ART PLANET AT MINI CLUB MED®
Clean Art Planet raises children's awareness of the environment. This original activity focuses on the objects that find their way into the sea and are then rejected by the waves: plastic bags, bottles, flip flops, and so on are used in a series of workshops that focus on art and colour, putting emotion in the limelight rather than right and wrong!
Once the objects have been collected from the beaches by adults, sorted according to object and colour and washed, the Mini Club Med® can get on with the creative side of the activity, during which the children invent objects and stories, do photography, create large-scale works of art and put on exhibitions.
The activity is run by G.O®s.

LITTLE CIRCUS
Circus workshops for children aged 4 to 6 at Mini Club Med®, to discover the joys of the circus in small groups, with G.O®s trained in their discipline. The children take part in a show, where they can demonstrate what they have learnt.

PETIT CHEF PROGRAM®

Explore new cultures, open up to new worlds. Each Resort is a starting point from which to explore the wonderful sights each country has to offer.
Bintan Elephant Park (1 hour)
Bintan Elephant Park is a great place to see elephants close up. The 40-minute Seven Elephants of Sumatra show is a fabulous interactive experience. You'll see how they eat, and find out lots of things about their behaviour. After the show, you can ride on one of these magnificent animals, or just feed them.
Discover traditional fishing techniques (1/2 day)
Guided tour to discover traditional fishing techniques with a local fisherman.
Your excursion will take you to a traditional village where you can learn how the local fishermen catch fish, crabs and shrimps. Your local fisherman-guide will explain how the different types of trap work.
Pasar Oleh Oleh (à la carte)
You can get a taxi to Pasar Oleh Oleh, a souvenir market made up of traditional huts, each selling a particular speciality: Keropok (pink shrimp and fish crackers), dried sea fruit, scallops and little shrimps.
For those with a sweet tooth, Kueh Lapis is a tasty local cake.
Tanjung Uban (1/2 day)
Guided tour of Bintan Island's second largest town. On the way you'll visit a local farm where you can taste over 20 different types of fruits and vegetables, before vising the traditional Chinese temple. You can shop at the local market, and on the way back you'll stop at Panorama Hill for some fresh coconut and at Pasar Oleh Oleh where you'll find local handicrafts, including batik.

For your information, transfers are not organized by Club Med. To get to the Resort on your own, you have to book taxis and ferry on site.
